Fundraising FAQs

To help you with your fundraising we’ve put together a list of answers to some of our commonly received questions. If you have a question not answered below please do not hesitate to contact us.

What kind of support will Team Bryant give me?

When you partner with Team Bryant you will be supported throughout your entire event experience. In addition to sending you a fundraising pack, we’re here to help with any queries you may have and are committed to making the fundraising process as easy as possible.

Will you help advertise my event?

We will add every event that is being organised to raise money for Team Bryant to the event calendar on the website. We will also feature events on our Facebook page and in our regular e-newsletter.

Can you provide me with Team Bryant clothing to help me with my fundraising?

We will provide everyone that organises an event on behalf of Team Bryant with a free standard top (t-shirt or sports vest, we have both in male and female versions) and a wristband.

We can also help you arrange to get something specific to your event (e.g. cycling tops) designed by our preferred suppliers. Depending on the cost of this item and quantity required this may or may not be funded by Team Bryant.

Alternatively we can provide you with the Team Bryant logos so that you can source and have your own kit branded (at your own cost). We can also provide you with Team Bryant wristbands to sell (RRP £5) to help with your fundraising.

How should I collect sponsorship? Can people donate online?

People can donate cash or cheques (please make cheques payable to The Joanna Bryant Benefit Trust and see ‘Contact Us‘ for address details) or you can also use our new online fundraising facility with Golden Giving.

This will enable you to set up a team or individual event page, include details of what you are doing, a fundraising target and keep track of any sponsorship you’ve received. We can also create event pages and use Golden Giving to sell tickets for fundraising events that you are organising, let us know if you would like our help setting this up.

Take a look at our Golden Giving page for more information:

NB as we do not yet have charitable status with HMRC (see question below re Gift Aid) we are unable to accept charity cheques at this stage so please ask your sponsors to make their donation another way.

Can I use online sponsorship sites such as Justgiving or Virginmoneygiving and other similar sites?

Team Bryant is a Trust rather than a UK registered charity and as a result we are not able to use these sites. Golden Giving does pretty much the same thing and the best thing about it is that, unlike many of these other sites, they don’t charge us a fee to use them. All that is payable is a bank processing fee (18p for debit cards, 1.45% for credit cards) so more of your money goes to the projects that we’re funding.

Can Team Bryant reclaim Gift Aid?

We are in the process of registering for charitable status with HMRC. This takes approximately 3 months and once this has been approved we will then be eligible for Gift Aid.

How should I send my sponsorship money to Team Bryant?

Once your fundraising event is over and you’ve celebrated your success, thanked your supporters and collected your money, please let us know via a summary of your event and the total amount that you’ve raised so that we can put it towards our partnerships. If people made donations via Golden Giving this is all taken care of for you.
